+4420787693242, Pendennis Road, ADJ Odeon Cinema, Streatham, London, SW16 2SP

Two old style phone booths in this once afluent part of South London. The area has gone to the dogs in the last 15-20 Years. Never the less, here stands two lonesome payphones across the road on the right there. You sometimes get gangs of youth hanging around them.

Sunday 4 December 2011

+442089472190, Wimbledon Station, NR Gates ON Footbridge, Wimbledon, London

Emensly busy station. This pathway is the bring the connects everyone to each of the station's platforms. Keep calling it, people might be busy but your sure to get someone taking their commute in the slow stride. Oh and ask them if they've seen any of the Wimbledon Wombles.

Sunday 27 November 2011

+442088892628 & +442088892529, Wood Green Underground Station, London, N22 4HH

This is quite a vibrant place located in Wood Green North London. Was notorious for crime, and has recently seen a massive influx of Eastern European immigrants into the area. The boxes are usually used by them in the late evenings to call home (I guess). But you'll get someone almost always waiting in this area. Commuters arrive up from the escalator on the right and come trough the ticket barriers in the shot to leave the station. At a quite time you definitely be able to get the attention of the barrier operators featured in the shot. Both of whom I know and have worked here for a long time. Since this photo was taken the two payphones to the left have been removed, the numbers listed here are for the two remaining on the right.

Sunday 13 November 2011

+442088854798, Bruce Grove, OS 117, London, N17 6UR

A real urban payphone here. Doubt it gets much use (well not for phone calls), smelt of urine and was damaged quite bad. It does however ring very loud when called. It is also the scene of quite a lot of bother. Can at some point in the day find a police car or ambulance here attending to something or another. The building it's against is the local snooker hall and the bridge ahead is Bruce Grove train station the serves Liverpool Street Station.

Sunday 30 October 2011

+442086888699, West Croydon Station, British Rail Booking Hall, Croydon, London

Good chance of an answer here. This is in the main ticket hall and there's always people waiting around these payphones. The number is for the payphone on the left.

Sunday 23 October 2011

+442086843039, Brookmead Road, OS 1, London, CR0 3AR

Way out new the South London Tram Link between Croydon and Wimbledon. There phone box is a particular vandal target. You really won't get an answer here. Just posting it becuase I don't want it forgotten to the hate filled vandals. Pray for this box.

Sunday 9 October 2011

+442086471602, Stafford Road, New Sainsburys Store, Wallington, London, SM6 9BU

This is a great addition to the site and perfect for a good pranking. The payphone is nice and low (which is very unusual, but the best thing is that it's right next to the customer service desk of this supermarket. Rings perfectly loud too. Have fun.

+34915233486, Near Exit to Gran Vía Callao Station, Madrid, Spain

+34915233486, Near Exit to Gran Vía Callao Station, Madrid, Spain
Located inside the metro network of Madrid, in the "Callao" station near the exit to "Gran Vía".

In Spain, is almost impossible to call to the payphones on the street (if you try it, you'll hear SIT tones). However, I found that about the 50% of the payphones inside the metro are callable. This one not only is callable but also it RING LOUD and the audio works OK both ways. The "Callao" station is a busy and central one (many tourist and locals). I guess that from 6:30 am to 1:45 am (almost all day) there are good chances that someone will respond.

Many thanks Santiago for this great new addition. We hope and look
forward to many more from you.

Sunday 25 September 2011

+442084441994, Muswell Hill Broadway, OS 87, London, N10 3HA

Very busy high street and the box does still get used quite frequently.

Sunday 18 September 2011

+442084447518, Wood Green, Alexandra Palace Way, Alexandra Palace, London, N22 7AY

Small payphone located under this stairway. On the opposite side of the hall is a pub. Those people will hear this one ringing.

Sunday 4 September 2011

+442084420364, Wood Green, Alexandra Palace Way, Alexandra Palace, London, N22 7AY

Just out side the ice ring. To the left is the ticket hall. Payphone rings loud and the sound echoes easily around this hall.

Wednesday 31 August 2011

Hope you don't need to contact the station attendant

Not a payphone but found it interesting none-the-less. Located on underground platform of Forest Hill Station, San Francisco, CA. Many thanks to Trevor Gwin for this spot.

Vandalized and Abused Payphone in San Francisco

Located near a major intersection where many people wait to transfer between several major bus lines, also every Tuesday there's a line down the block for the 99¢ chicken special at pop-eyes. Not able to get it's telephone number since both the phone and all the stickers appear to be ripped off :-( Big thanks to Bub Rubb for this.

+442076265145 & +4420760651, Main Concourse, Opposite Platform 1, Outside Ticket Office, Cannon Street Station, London, EC4N 6AP

Brand new station. These payphones have been repositioned in a great location. There will be a lot of people passing them as they leave the ticket office exit. The station is looking very accessable and modern.

Sunday 21 August 2011

+442082351300, Ecclestone Mews, Belgrave Place, London, SW1

A very exclusive part of London to live. To be honest there isn't a great chance of obtaining an answer to your call here. But it is still a pretty phone box and a very nice part of central London.

Sunday 7 August 2011

+442079308998, Strand, Charing Cross Subway, London, WC2N 5HS

The subway linking the station with the underground. At night you get homeless people sleeping here. The sound of the ringing phone has an echo effect through the tunnel.

Sunday 24 July 2011

+442079307053, Whitehall, OS No 22, London, 1PCO SW1A 2DY

A treasure to this collection. You can see (faintly) in the background the column of Britain's national hero, Lord Nelson in Trafalgar Square. This was taken in Whitehall where Downing Street can also be found.

Sunday 10 July 2011

+442078391499, Strand, Charing Cross, West Side Cab, London, WC2N 5HS

Not far from Trafalgar Square is London's Charing Cross rail station. This was taken at around midday otherwise you would have been able to see the payphone. It gets really very very busy here during the rush hour(s).

Sunday 26 June 2011

+442078375483, London Kings Cross Station, Metropolitan and District Line Ticket Hall, London

One of the few remaining payphones actually in the London Underground network. This is on a district line platform that is not actually proper underground but is under the Kings Cross mainline station building. Never the less 1000s of people pass this one throughout the whole day.

Sunday 12 June 2011

+442078373758, London Kings Cross Rail Station, Opp Platform 3, N1 9AP

Number is for the phone on the far right. Good one this as you get a lot of people hanging around here waiting for their train. People interested in Harry Potter will have to bear with me, as there is a payphone near the famous platform, but it's situated behind a ticket barrier. So you'll have to wait till I get around to that one.

+442078350422, Launderette, Hogarth Road Earls Court. London, SW5

+442078350422, Launderette, Hogarth Road Earls Court. London, SW5
Oh, this has to be my favourite payphone I've ever had the pleasure to find. It featured on my old payphone net site. Anyone who remembers, the shot was taken from the inside out. Difference now is that this laundrette has changed hands and is a lot more cluttered inside. There is now a person sat at the window taking on repairs to clothes and also does service washes. I just love how this payphone is located just behind her and is most certainly going to get answered. If you do call this box please be polite as we don't want them to have it removed due to nuisance calls. Also, when I used to visit this wash, the box was used by local families to receive calls from relevant family member (wondering how much longer mums are going to be and so on..). One other thing, the model of the payphone has been updated to a newer type.

+442078332543, St Pancras Rail Station Concourse, London, NW1 2QP

+442078332543, St Pancras Rail Station Concourse, London, NW1 2QP
Phone rings very loud, more than loud enough to get a reaction from the public seating to the right. Also gets a good crowd in the evening rush with the platform information being displayed, above where the lady with the paper is right now.

Sunday 1 May 2011

+442077398165, Redchurch Street, Bethanl Green, London

Very close to the famous brick lane. In the shot on the top right you can see the bus shelter, showing just how close this is to the westbound bus stop. Commuters will hear this no problem. By the way this was a very smelly phone box.

Sunday 24 April 2011

+498997330935 & +498997330934, Gate 15 (E05), Franz Josef Strauss Airport, München (Munich), Germany

Two sweet payphones standing directly next to the seated waiting around at Gate 15, and they're also opposite the public toilets here. You'll get noticed as the area is pretty quite with people just bored of waiting for their flight. Flights from here can be leaving for any part of the world but they do tend to be Lufthansa (the national airliner here).

Sunday 10 April 2011

+498997330848 & +498997330845, Munich - Franz Josef Strauss Airport, München (Munich), Germany

Took these a shot of these two airport payphones just before I made way through security (positioned directly opposite these payphones). I was surprised that I weren't called up and told off for taking pictures in
such a secure area. Two police officers even saw me and said nothing. You can see them behind a pillar in my panoramic shot here. Busyish area, alot of people passing by coming from and going to the public toilets that are off to the right of these payphones.

Thursday 7 April 2011

+447860514132 & +447860517044, Display Mobiles (Cell Phones), O2 Shop, Notting Hill Gate, London

Ok they aren't payphones... But they are call able telephones that are accessible by the public. They cool thing is that they do actually ring. This'll get the attention of anyone near to them. Even more so if anyone's looking at them. They are both iPhones, one is the 4G (left) the other is a 3G (right).

Sunday 3 April 2011

+442077308779, London Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria Coach Station Departure Yard, SW1W 9TP

One day, I'll go back and list the numbers for each of these payphones. Would be awesome to just call them all at once. You'd stand a good chance of an answer, even just by calling one of them.

Sunday 27 March 2011

Typical German Payphones

I took this series of shots from the same payphone bank. These are position in the subway directly in front of Munich's central Station. There do still see a fair amount of use, which is good to know. Unfortunately I didn't get their telephone numbers. But it does give you a chance to see the fairly new interactive payphones that are popping up all over Germany.

Thursday 17 March 2011

Saint Patrick's Day Phone Box

Another great phone box spot by Dean Moloney. Traditional British phone box decked out in green tinsel. Happy St Patrick's day to all our Irish Payphone Folk out there.

Sunday 13 March 2011

+4989557713, Street Payphone, Bayer Straße, München (Munich), Germany

The telephone number here is for the payphone to the right. They are positioned directly on platform 26, one of Munich's Central Station#s main platforms. You can get someone's attend almost 24 hrs. and day here.

Sunday 6 March 2011

+442077275899. London, Jct Lonsdale Road & Portobello Road, W11 2BY

Used to be a twin payphone set-up here, but the back one was removed leaving the original payphone that I had listed on the old payphone net directory. There's a public automated toilet to the left. This street is amazingly busy on Sundays, as it's the full market day. You should be able to see the white box road markets just behind the rubbish bags. Each one is for a market trader.

Thursday 3 March 2011

+442077245634, London Paddington Underground Station, Praed Street, W2 1RH

This was an old one from the payphone project website (http://www.payphone-project.com/gallery/England/paddington1). If you visit the link, you'll seen on old picture of this spot where there used to be four payphones. Another two used to be situated just about where the left side of that advertising frame is right now. The number featured here is still the same as always and is for the phone on the left.

Sunday 27 February 2011

+498924210134, Community Public Phone Reichenbach Straße, München (Munich), Germany

Beautiful public payphone here. It stands opposite this Vinzenzmurr Butchers. Vinzenzmurr typically sells processed and fresh meat. But they now sell coffee and snacks hence the tables and chairs outside. Over Summer these place will heave with people stopping here for a byte to eat or a quick coffee. This payphone is open so it'll give you a good chance of an answer. Good luck and ask them how their Bratwurst tastes (Typical Sausage here).

Basketball Arena, best time to call is right before or after a game or during half-time.

Here's the schedule of the teams that play there:

Sunday 20 February 2011

+498959998704, Street Payphone, Bayer Straße, München (Munich), Germany

Typical street payphone here in the heart of Munich. Off to the right in the background you can see the central train station and during the evenings this pavement (side-walk) gets really very busy. Give it a call around then as it does ring with a fair volume.

Tuesday 15 February 2011

+442077344784, China Town, Gerrad Street, ADJ Telephone Exchange, W1D 6JH

Shot in the heart of London's Chinatown. Was taken in early morning and you can see the restaurants receiving their deliveries, along with the Chinese community members coming by to collect their Chinese language newspapers. This box has stood for time even though the once famous London Chinese phone boxes (with Chinese design) have been removed as they were deemed offensive to Chinese people. I've managed to obtain a picture of the old Chinese phone booth from this exact same location. You can see it below. Also the building this box stands up to, is the local telephone exchange. One last thing, this is not the original china town. The original china town was located in the Limehouse area of East London, where they came as part of a global sailing community (I will try to get a payphone of that area featured here sometime soon).

Sad Sight

This picture by @hotincleveland over at Twitter, shows how much we all value these once essential telecommunication spaces. Is it a sign of the times?

Snow Covered Payphone, Yuzawa, Japan

Thanks to: @SnowJapan on Twitter for this. 'Nighta' at the famous phone box in Yuzawa. I've seen many pictures of payphones involving snow, but none quite like this. Would be even better were we able to call it.

Monday 31 January 2011

+442088033495 & +442088033525, Loud Ikea Payphones, North London, UK

In the pictures it can we very sparse in terms of people passing them. But give it till the weekend, this place will be heaving with people. The are positioned right after the main entrance. The telephone number is for the lower down payphone.
