Payphone scene outside the wonderful Bogotá bullring in the heart of this Capitol.

All the official public payphones I encountered here have no dialable telephone number. There are however a whole host of private payphones that are reachable.

A pair of public payphones within the old airports departures
building. Phone rang nice'n loud. The building has since been
redeveloped and I'm not sure where this payphone now features. But
it's worth giving a go. Let me know in the comments section what

I visited Boston today and found these guys. They're on the corner of Parker & Tremont, near Boston Common. Standing in Old America They work really well, despite the damage to the signs on the top of 4 of them. That's pretty much it, they stand side by side; waiting for people to pick them up.

This phone doesn't even need to be here. The desk in the front lets people call anyone for free for however long they want. Also, the coin slot is covered with blue painters' tape, to ensure that people don't use it. There's a faint dial tone, and the number on it refuses to work. But it's cool.

It's at Minute Man National Park in Concord, Massachusetts, in the visitors center in the middle of one of the trails.

It's a sad payphone life. Hanging there, barely working, with no real reason for anyone to use it.

These cylinder shaped payphone booths pretty unique. I've never seen any booth models such as these.

I've travelled this route many times and have yet to see someone use one of these on board phones.

This one is pretty messed up. It stands on a wall in the bad part of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Vandalized, and without a number. However, it works perfectly fine. It's pretty cool. Thanks to Newman for this.

Recently stumbled across this phone box, bedecked with tributes to Sherlock Holmes, outside St Bart's in Smithfield. In the last series of the BBC's Sherlock, our hero fell to his apparent death from the roof of the hospital. Although the final scene revealed that trickery was afoot, it hasn't stopped fans of the sleuth leaving personal messages at this latter-day Reichenbach.

Calling the payphone may well get you a Sherlock Holmes fan on the line, or simply a tourist wondering what it's all about.
